We had a good turnout of 14 and the weather was perfect for hiking. The water in the Rogue was lower than we have seen recently and so it was a bit less spectacular at Takelma Gorge. We got a bit wet in the AM going along an overgrown trail after it had rained. Overall the trail was in good condition, with one downed tree that we easily got around.
Unfortunately someone took a bad fall on the way back and I was proud of the way an all-women team took charge immediately and competently administered first aid. Last year I had harped on everyone having a first aid kit and they had all the materials necessary. We were soon on our way as our brave individual finished the hike on her own with a couple of us walking close by.
Some of us stopped at Phil"s Frosty for ice cream cones.
