Takelma Gorge 10-31-16

Photos by John and Rich

We were fortunate to have a beautiful day for hiking despite some bad weather in the area. Nine of us headed out to the Upper Rogue Trail. We left a shuttle car at Woodruff Bridge then started our hike from Natural Bridge. With all the recent rain the Natural Bridge was deluged with water. We then hiked along the Rogue to Woodruff, had lunch, and continued to Takelma Gorge. We finished on our return to Woodruff Bridge and the drivers went to pick up the cars.

The river was incredible with all the water. Altogether we hiked about 7 miles. There was a bit of deadfall between Natural Bridge and Woodruff bridge but nothing to slow us down. All agreed it was a great day with enough sun to set off both the river and the trees along the way.

Due to Halloween parades and trick or treating we headed straight home.
