Lower Rogue 4-25-16

Photos by Gladys and Alex

It was perfect weather for the hike along the Rogue River from Grave Creek to Whiskey Creek--cool at the start, then pleasantly warm for the rest of the day.  No dehydrated hikers at the end of this trip.

Some of the early flowers were on their way out, but the Golden Iris and Showy Tarweed were blooming in great abundance.  No noteworthy bird or animal sightings.  Not one boat on the river.

Refreshments at Baldini's Tavern in Merlin, much improved since the hike leader last visited there over 10 years ago.
