We had a newcomer join us, one Randall Stothers. The restrooms at Graves Creek boat ramp were locked due to their being a federal facility. We headed up/down the usual path towards the Whiskey Creek Cabin. When we got to the turnoff to Rainie Falls we decided to go down and see what we could see from there. It is such a short detour but there is not a good view of the falls from that side of the river. There were rafters trying to negotiate the near side bypass while we were there including one that got turned sideways into the stream.
Trekking on, we arrived at the cabin in time for lunch. Randy spent the first part of the lunch break checking out the place. On our return trek we checked out the bear guarded area on the beach at the Whiskey Creek delta. We managed to get back to Ashland before rush hour.
