Lower Rogue - Grave Creek to Alder Creek 4-2-14

The weather forecast was spot on today with full sun and a high around 60oF. River flow was about 70% of normal at 3,500 CFS but there was plenty of water in the side creeks. The sliding rock was easily passable.

Part of the group visited the Whiskey Creek Cabin and reported that it had been rehabed; new floors, roof, etc.

We had lunch on the rocks near the outflow of Alder Creek and watched a river otter also enjoying lunch. Thanks to Jim W. for his pic of the critter.

We stopped at Baldini's in Merlin on the way back. We hadn't been in there in some time but it was the same good service and food; a welcome plate of crudities followed with the usual onion rings and fries.
