Neither rain nor snow nor sleet could keep the Every Friday Group from the hiking trails. We were pleased to have Sunny with us after her surgery and Laure Ried joined us for her first hike with the Every Friday Group.

We fortified ourselves with rain gear and umbrellas and headed out into the rain. Elk Creek was higher than anyone had seen it, more like a river than a creek. It was well over its banks and streams running into it were virtual torrents.

We made good time down the 5 miles to the lower TH and arrived reasonably dry. A few hikers had wet feet from water crossing the trail. We had lunch, which necessitated letting go of the brollies. Fortunately the rain had diminished a bit by then.

Most of us bashed on the dam after lunch but a few went on a mission to retrieve our cars from the starting TH. By the time we returned from the dam, the cars had also returned so we could just pack up and go.

All eight of us gathered at 4 Daughters pub after the hike for something to drink and some fries. Everyone had fun despite the conditions.
