PCT from Old 99 to Pilot Rock 5-22-13

Photos and Track by Ron and Dan

Interesting day. Bit of snow overnight which sugared the trees and covered the abundant wildflowers. It was 35oF when we arrived at the TH and only warmed up to the low 40s. Sun in the morning which melted the snow, followed by overcast at lunch and then ave levis (light hail in Latin) in the afternoon.

We had decided against trying to summit Pilot Rock because of the snow and wet rock. It was an all guy hike until we fortunately ran into a stripper/hiker at our lunch spot on the south side of Pilot Rock.

We took refreshment at Callahan's.
