Monday's hike was a great escape from Summer's heat in the valley. While Ashland reached a hot 93o, springlike conditions prevailed along the PCT out to Grouse Gap. Clear skies yielded a pristine view of Mt. Shasta and all kinds of wildflowers decorated the three mile path out to the shelter. Many spring creeks provided nature's irrigation system for all the plant life.
We enjoyed a casual lunch out at the Grouse Gap shelter that included two rounds of dark chocolate for all.
And we welcomed back the two Joes to our little group of Monday hikers.
In a move towards normalcy, we gathered post hike at the recently reopened Callahan's for a round of beer.
It was a delightful day!

Next Monday we are heading up to Big Red Mountain to check out this year's Bear Grass.
