The expected temperature in Ashland was over 100 degrees but we had found a cooler place to hike. There was a cool breeze at high elevation and the temperature maxed out at 81 degrees when we got back to the cars.
It was a beautiful day, and the views were spectacular.
I had forgotten the hike is more than bit of work and decided to name the last slope up to the Peak as "Pain in the Butt HIll", having dragged myself up it many times.
We spoke with a number of PCT through hikers and they were all in a good mood, looking forward to some time off in Ashland.
After the hike it was wine and cheese at Kerr Manor.
