PCT - Hyatt Lake to Greensprings Summit 5-6-19

Photos by Bob

A perfect day for a nice hike. There was more deadfall than normal so there must have been severe winds this winter. After stopping for the usual bridge photo at Little Hyatt Lake, our procession of 17 hikers made good time to the lunch spot at the 19 hiker log. Unfortunately the log had deteriorated considerably but it was still useable. The view remained superb.

Liz and her botanical acolytes hesitated here and there to ogle flowers but nothing new was found. Sabin appears to be taking a keen interest in posies these days, perhaps a reaction to doing taxes for the uninformed. Rich seemed disappointed we didn't find a lost pony this time. I tried to arrange it but all we had available on the farm was a rather disagreeable Angus bull and a few smelly Nubians.

12 of us retired to Caldera for refreshments afterwards, where the beer (and a root beer) were up to expectation and the fries were excellent.
