Greensprings Summit to Hobart Bluff 8-25-18

Photos by Francie

Before retiring on Friday night I saw the stars shining and the bight lights of Talent Oregon, with nary a wisp of smoke. The hiking group was put on notice (those left who were not in Italy) and the go signal was given the next morning.

Five hardy hikers headed out to Greensprings Summit while receiving dispiriting e-mails and photos from various ports on the Italian Med, Mont Blanc, etc. But our resolve was strong and we reached Hobart Bluff in good time. A benefit of all the travel by the Monday Group (The Motley Crew) was those remaining received much larger portions of chocolate. This bolstered our spirits, which shows how easily they are bolstered. Francie joined us for the hike and put us in awe with her story of climbing Mount St Helens with its enormous boulders. I was going to summit it next week climbing backwards but this put me off.

The weather was brilliant and we were in good spirits after the hike. I had planned to rush home and pack my unmentionables for my trip to BC the next day but Jeff (the Horse Whisperer) Wyatt convinced me that an Ashland Amber was merited. We therefore retired to Caldera where all was good.
