We had a solidly overcast day with temps in the 50s. On the outbound John approved a detour to summit Little Pilot Peak which wasn't on the original hike description. However, it provided an opportunity for several hikers to finally cross this one off their bucket list.
There were patches of snow along the PCT portion of the hike, with wildflowers springing up everywhere. We even saw the rare Taraxacum officinale. We found a nice shortcut from the PCT down to the Boccard Point trail and were on top for lunch just before noon. After lunch, just as we were heading down, the wind kicked up and we were happy to be off the exposed point. It looked as if we might have some rain but we made it back to the cars without any precipitation.
We refreshed ourselves on the deck at COCORICO which has now been renamed "burger and pie".
