PCT - Castle Crags - North From the Dog Creek TH 4-20-16

Photos by Gary and Keeley

What a great hike. This has to be one of the top 10 we do each year.

It was about 62 degrees as we started up the trail. The Buck Brush was in full bloom, as were the Dogwood trees, the Dutch Iris and others. We crossed many creeks that were just the right size for an easy crossing, along with great sounds.

Lunch was had at Sabin’s Point in the shade with incredible views in all directions. By the time we returned to our car, the temperature had risen to 77 degrees. We were grateful for being in the forest for the last 2 miles down the hill. Refreshments were had in Yreka.
