Lovely day with temperatures in the 60s and only the occasional wispy cloud.

Nice walk across the Brown Mountain lava beds. Still impressed with the trail construction across the extensive boulder fields. About 6 miles of this hike's 10+ miles are on top of the lava beds.

The drive to the TH, including dropping the shuttle car, was 1:15. However, the round trip shuttle time at the end of the hike was 50 minutes.

We went a bit out of our way to enjoy refreshments on the breezy deck at Lake of the Woods after the hike.
