Wagner Butte 6-29-15

A relatively cool day, with lots of flowers.  The signature plant along the trail, the tall Monument Plant, was just starting to bloom.

Just like last Monday in the vicinity of Pilot Rock, as we came down from the summit area we encountered a large group of people on their way up, all of them women except one. Then we encountered Nancy and Elisabeth, who had missed the 8:30 start time, a short distance behind them.  Elisabeth told us that these were members of the OSF troupe enjoying their day off.  Our guess is that the largest group of hikers that we saw last Monday were also OSF folk.  If we encounter them again next Monday, we'll have to assume thay they're following our schedule and ask for some free play tickets.

Only one person in our group, who also happened to be the group photographer, made it to the summit.  Since he and all but one of the others hiked the trail separately, not even overlapping at lunch, there are no people photos in today's posting.  The summiteer did take a selfie at the summit but decided that it was not flattering enough to post.

Four members of the group enjoyed post-hike beer and fries in the Granite Taphouse on Lithia Plaza.
