Very pleasant hike on Upper Table Rock. Not too muddy on the way up, not too wet on top. Warm and sunny day, with background music provided by chori of frogs.
We went past the VOR facility some way before settling down for lunch by a large frog pond with lots of trees in the vicinity, quite unlike the barren expanse on the way to the VOR facility. We followed an old road called Pumice Lane on the Garmin topo map, which even assigns house numbers to various locations along it, starting just past the top of the trail up to the mesa. Must have been platted as a housing development at one time before some earlier bubble burst. Total distance was 6.8 miles.
