Lower Table Rock 4-7-22

Photos by John E. and Rich

Our changeable Spring weather caused a rainout with a downpour at the TH Monday, but a glorious makeup hike on a sunny and warm Thursday.

Three guys hiked up the trail to the top of the plateau; stopping along the way to admire and snap pictures of the bounty of Spring flowers.

Many hikers were out enjoying the clear skies and temps that reached into the 70s before noon.

Up on top, we saw patches of pink, yellow, purple, gold, and blue & white from rosy plectritis, buttercups, larkspur, gold field, and blue-eyed Mary (shirts & shirts). Many more flowers adorned the trail below including increasing shrubs of Bleeding Hearts in the turn in the trail before the final push to the top.

A bright yellow, single engine plane flew overhead and swooped down as if to land on the WWII landing strip twice!

We had lunch overlooking the Rogue and green valley below after we took an old trail to the right through the Buckbrush and out to a rocky point.

On the way back we chatted with a group from BLM who were surveying the damage to the information signs on the trail and on top...more vandalism.

But all in all it was a good day.
