Ashland Hiking Home

On Wednesday we had 6 people come out to hike the road around Roxy Ann.  The sky was cloudy and the temperature was 45°.

We started at the second gate at 9:38am and walked up the road and around to the upper parking lot at the 1 mile mark.

From there we turned left to go clockwise. We circled around then headed up the steep tower road. It felt easier getting this incline out of the way sooner.

We reached the top of the road then went right on the trail to reach the real summit at 3,451 feet of elevation.   Four of us climbed into the rocks for a group photo.

We then walked over to the overlook and ate our lunch. Then we headed back down the tower road then continued clockwise.

As we walked on the backside road, we never had a chance to see Mount McLoughlin since it was covered in clouds.  There were many camas wildflower plants with just the green leaves showing.  It will be covered in blue blooms in the upcoming weeks.

We came around to the rock pit and headed back down the road.  We could look up and see the cell towers on top of the peak. We came back to the upper parking lot and circled back around the road to our cars.  We had hiked 6 miles and had 1,031 feet of elevation gain.  We were back at our cars around 1:30 PM.
