Peony Hill 6-6-25

Seven of us drove the long dusty Baldy Creek road to the PCT access point and headed for Peony Hill. Along the trail we saw dozens of flowering plants, shrubs and trees. The stars of the show on this trail were the huge drifts of Royal Jacobs ladder, as well as the here- today-gone -tomorrow peonies.  They do not last long, so it was great that we caught them when we did. We then voted to head the rest of the way up Tyler Creek to Highway 66 and find the elusive Lady Slipper - oh boy!
