Beautiful sunny day with the temperature warming up from the high 40s into the high 60s. This hike is a steady up of around 3,000' in a little more than 4 miles with the final push to Baldy Peak being a breathtaking 300' of up in 800'.
After attaining the summit we enjoyed a leisurely lunch with a Sound of Music type panorama laying below us.
The trail is in good shape and we were happy to be doing it in March before the poison oak gets aggressive here.
We took refreshment at Cafe Ruch. We are still trying to figure out their portion control algorithm. It seemed that this week's order of 4 fries and 4 onion rings was about the same size as last weeks 2/2 order.
