Deadfall Lakes - Mt. Eddy 7-18-16

A group of 9 hikers made the trip to Deadfall Lakes. We started from the lower trailhead which turned out to be less than optimal. There was more water in the streams than in previous years so crossing the meadow took some doing. Making up for it was perfect weather for hiking.

We gained the heights and stopped for lunch at the upper lake where a cool breeze came in and jackets were hauled out for about ten minutes until the sun cane out again. Three of our hikers headed up to the ridge after lunch and met us on the trail later.

There were lots of day and overnight hikers on the trails (and many dogs) but not enough to bother us. We split the group at the fork in the trail on the way down with two going down through the meadow to move our vehicles up the to upper trailhead. The rest of us avoided slogging through the meadow again although the mileage was considerably longer.

After various delays, including just chilling out at the upper lake, we headed straight home as the clock had moved on.
