Little Grayback 4-13-16

Photos and Tracks by Keeley, Francie and Ron

We started out in 50 degree weather and partly cloudy skies. It was a great day for a hike. As the morning progressed, it seemed to be getting colder and the wind picked up a bit, so it felt even colder. Based on the weather, we stopped in a protected area, instead of lunching in the fully exposed and open area. Two hikers decided to proceed to the top of Squaw Peak for extra credit.

There were some wild flowers and the poison oak was growing like crazy, but generally not on the trail, just very near. Three ticks (little graybacks) were found on pant legs, but hopefully none became permanent attachments to one of us.

We had refreshments at Boomtown and all had a good time.
