The strategy was to leave a bit early to avoid the heat and it worked. The weather was perfect and we found a nice breeze for part of the hike.
We hiked up to the big viewpoint and ran into Elisabeth Zinser who joined us for part of the hike. After chilling out at the viewpoint we did the loop and stopped for lunch at some favorite logs in the shade. There were fields full of delphiniums and meadows full of various flowers. You had to push your way through the delphiniums at times.
After the hike most of us enjoyed wine and cheese at Kerr Manor..
