Predictions of rain and snow yielded to mostly cloudy, and a big group of Monday hikers headed up Frank Hill Road...many for the first time.

The road becomes a trail as you go through the green gate and up past trailers, both abandoned and occupied.

The cloud cover was thick, but there were still some valley views.

The large group went 5.4 miles and nearly 1,000', while 5 hikers continued to near the top at 6.4 miles and 1,300', they were greeted by snow flurries.

Then it was time to head back down to Liz and George's fine home to warm up and partake in the great holiday spread.
