Beautiful day for a hike with full sun and the temperature climbing from the low 50s into the high 70s with a nice cooling breeze. As we left the TH we walked along the old road below a tall escarpment with plenty of fallen boulders. This is where we had our first, and only, two snake sightings, with snakes stretched out on the blacktop taking the sun.
We worked our way up the Labyrinth Loop with ever increasing views of Mt. Hood and expanding views of the river below us. Poison Oak does quite well along here although there was only one place where you had to turn sideways to completely avoid it.
Once at the top of the Upper Labyrinth trail we cut west and made our way over to the edge of the Coyote Wall where we found a great lunch spot with views up and down river and with Mt. Hood in the background. From there it was all downhill after lunch.
We took refreshment at Everybody's Brewing in White Salmon where we were delighted with the size of the fries orders as well as the extensive selection of beers.
