Collings Mountain 3-9-16

Well, five of us looked at the point forecast which was showing rain before 10 AM and again after 4 PM and concluded that this augured well for a day in the woods.  Hard to believe that all five of us were wrong.

We had fog in the valley and showers most of the morning which gave way to overcast with the occasional sun break in the afternoon.  The temperature climbed from the low 50s into the low 60s. The side creeks were flowing nicely giving us multiple opportunities for creative creek crossings.

Lunch was just a Ha lunch (1/2 of a Hank lunch - it was windy on the ridge). Refreshments were taken at Boomtown where we acquired the phone number so that we can alert them to our impending arrival in the future, thereby saving the 5 minutes or so of fryer warm-up time.
