We decided to hike this north to south today. Immediately after starting up the trail we encountered multiple, large trees that had evidently been blown down in the recent windstorm.
Since we had a couple of Big Foot virgins with us we took the side trail up to visit the Big Foot trap and found the trail blocked in a couple of places with large deadfall. Instead of returning back to the main trail by the way that we had come up we decided to bushwhack down the other side through the poison oak.
We had temperatures in the 50s all day with light showers off and on in the morning. At lunch we decided to sit under a large sheltering rock which didn't offer much in the way of a view, but it did provide a dry spot to sit. In memory of Hank we decided on a short lunch break.
After lunch, and just as we were making the turn to cross over the ridge, the clouds parted and the sun came out. The sun break lasted for the first hour or so of our descent before switching back to overcast, although we didn't have any more rain.
We took refreshment at Cafe Ruch.
