Well, as Hank said, we made lemonade today. We were headed to the Sterling Mine Ditch trail via Anderson Creek Road when we were stopped by snow just below the ridge between the Rogue and the Little Applegate valleys. After due deliberation we decided to leave the cars below the ridge and hike towards Anderson Butte.
We followed the old roads almost to the top of Anderson Butte where we were stopped by knee deep plus snow. We fell back a bit and had lunch below the top and then retraced our tracks back to the cars.
Weather was a combination of sunny, warm, cloudy, cold and snowy. April 4th. or April 1st.?
