Horseshoe Lake / Blue Lake 10-26-16

Photos by Dan, Katherine, Keeley and Jim

We began our hike under cloudy conditions and 46 degrees. This is a nice hike through the forest, passing by several lakes, ending up at Horseshoe lake, where we had lunch. Two adventuresome hikers went on to Blue Lake (a 2 mile extra credit) and joined us on the way back to the cars.

We did take several side trips to see Pear and Island Lakes, along with the famous “Judge Waldo” tree. There was some snow in a few places and a couple of creeks to cross, but overall the trail was in good condition.

Refreshments were taken at Omar’s, where one hiker stayed much longer to watch the second World Series game.
