An absolutely perfect day for hiking. We took our time up the 1,300 feet of ascent, pausing here and there. Carol continued our lightning fast botanical survey. We saw the following: Henderson Lily, Woodland Star, Saxifrages, California Goldfields, Foothill Desert-parsley, Giant White Fawn Lily, Grasswidow, Redstem Stork's Bill, Coast Rockcress, Shooting Star, Strawberries, Dicots, Scarlet Fritillary, Pacific Hound's Tongue, Mustard, Rusty Popcornflower, Shortspur Sealblush, Oregon Grapes, and Buttercups.

The views over Lost Creek Lake were splendid in the sun. We lingered at the lunch spot to enjoy the views.

We had a lot of shedding of layers to do and by the time we returned to the parking area it was 74 degrees.

We drove home and then joined Liz at her tulip garden exposition.
