We left Ashland in terrible winds but the Marina was as calm as could be. We had near perfect weather for the hike and there was more water in the Lake than last time.
I had been a bit worried the gate to the dam would be closed and locked but it was not. Two infants were biking over the dam but didn't generate enough wind to bother us. Neither had pedals.
We had lunch on the wall to the left of the parking lot and I seized the occasion to claim the wall as John's Wall. This was a bit of megalomania but it was a much better wall than last Monday's John's Point was a point.
After the hike we retired to 4 Daughters so the stout lovers could enjoy some Smithwicks stout.
