Seven hikers started this hike on the northern shore of the Lost Lake Reservoir under clear skies and perfect hiking conditions. We made good progress to a great lunch spot, after stopping to visit the Blue Grotto on the way, which had falling ice present.
The views from our favorite lunch bench were great. As long as we were in the sun, the temperature was perfect, but the shady areas sported some ice and a few slippery points were noted in route. The reservoir is very low at this time of the year, so it will be interesting to compare notes in April, after the rains and some snow melt have added to the reservoir.
Refreshments were taken at Buffalo Wings, where the staff now seems to remember what beverages we like. We all had a good day.
