Applegate Lake Loop 1-5-22

Eight of us headed to the Applegate Reservoir to do a loop hike and enjoy being outside.  The trail was in good shape with the few exceptions of some down tree branches along the way.  We had some sunshine and partially blue skies, especially during lunch, which was taken at a well located picnic table.  The forest was exceptionally green with ferns and moss growing everywhere.

The reservoir seemed low, but I guess it is normal this time of year as they wait for more water to come down from the large watershed during springtime.  We did see one lone fisherman in a boat enjoying the solitude.  After a relaxing lunch we headed back to the cars and headed home just as a sprinkling of rain arrived.
